PULSE OF TIME. READING AND DISCUSSING THE NEWS IN RUSSIAN
The manual is addressed to students of advanced level of teaching Russian (B2–C1) and is aimed at developing communicative competence. It consists of 10 sections reflecting the main spheres of modern public life and the main headings of news media: "Domestic and foreign policy", "Economy and Entrepreneurship", "Social sphere", "Demographic processes and family", "Science, new technologies and the Internet", "Culture and Art", "Environment and ecology", "Natural disasters and catastrophes", "Criminal chronicle", "Sport".
Each section includes several topical topics containing authentic texts from the modern press, accompanied by a set of exercises aimed at studying and practicing language material and activating students' speech skills. Keys for self-control are attached to the tasks and final tests.
The course is focused on 160-200 academic hours.
