Candidate of Philological Sciences, professor at the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the Russian language section. Co-author in international author teams and author of more than 80 textbooks, study aids and articles on Russian as a foreign language, among them "Manual de lengua y cultura rusa: Ruso Basico", "I Write, Write, Write" (a study aid for teaching written speech), "Tales and Colours" (a reader for foreign schoolchildren), "The Russian Language in the Mirror of Culture", and "Writing without Mistakes" (workbooks). Current interests: the methodology and technology of teaching Russian, intercultural communication, and cultural area studies. She has taught in the USA, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria and Algeria.
